College of Science and Engineering
The College of Science & Engineering is known for rigorous academics and an emphasis on undergraduate research. The college boasts one of the top prehealth programs in the nation, a small and distinctive engineering program, groundbreaking research in child development and cognitive psychology, and cutting-edge GIS and remote sensing technology. The college now is moving to the forefront of environmental research and stewardship and has launched the TCU Energy Institute.
The programs are designed to provide students with knowledge and experiences necessary for successful careers and further study in science, engineering and mathematics. The college also assists in the preparation of K-12 mathematics and science teachers, and provides experiences in the sciences and mathematics for all TCU undergraduate students.
Opportunities for participation in research exist in every department and program. Besides working with graduate students, many faculty members involve undergraduates in their research. Students who engage in such activities have learning experiences that go well beyond those available in a traditional undergraduate curriculum, gaining hands-on experience in cutting-edge research fields, as well as authoring journal articles and presenting research at conferences and workshops.
